Riot Enhances Akshan’s Abilities Shortly After His League Debut

Akshan, League of Legends’ Newest Champion, Receives Buffs After 24 Hours of Release

Just a little over 24 hours since Akshan, the latest champion in League of Legends, was made available to play on the live servers, Riot Games has already decided to give him some buffs based on the initial results.

The buffs include increasing Akshan’s base attack damage from 50 to 52 and raising his base HP from 530 to 560. Additionally, the cooldown of Akshan’s ability, Avengerang (Q), has been reduced from six seconds to five seconds at max rank.

“We’re aiming for a ~2-2.5% buff here. He’s currently at 34% and we do expect him to grow a fair amount, but are confident he needed a little help,” said Jeevun Sidhu, League’s lead gameplay designer, in a tweet.

These buffs have already been implemented on the live servers in all regions, so players can anticipate Akshan being a bit stronger in their games featuring him. Despite the small sample size, the 34-percent win rate of Akshan after just 24 hours is seen as a significant enough indicator to justify the buffs.

It is unclear whether Riot has further plans to buff Akshan in the near future, but it is not surprising to expect the champion to undergo additional tweaks and changes in the next few updates. Patch 11.16, scheduled to release on August 11 according to the League patch schedule, could potentially bring more buffs for Akshan.
