Riot drops remixed version of “Rise” featuring Bobby from K-Pop group iKON.

Rise, the official anthem for the League of Legends World Championship, has just been remixed. The remix features Kim “Bobby” Ji-won from the popular K-Pop group iKON, adding a touch of South Korean pop culture to the song.

The remixed version of Rise was released just a few days before the start of the Worlds semifinals, which will take place in Gwangju, South Korea this weekend.

Many fans speculated that this year’s world anthem would be entirely K-Pop to celebrate South Korean culture, where the tournament is being held. While most fans reacted positively to Rise, there was some disappointment from those expecting K-Pop.

However, reactions to the remix have been mostly positive. Only a few negative comments can be found on Reddit from fans who don’t like K-Pop. If you’re a K-Pop or iKON fan, you’ll likely love this version of Rise. Bobby adds his own rapped lines and a guest verse, replacing the third verse of the original song.

It’s worth noting that Bobby is not technically iKON’s lead rapper, but he does rap in some of their most well-known songs like Love Scenario.

This isn’t the first time K-Pop has made its way into League. In the latest patch (8.21), a new line of K-Pop skins called the K/DA skins will be released in the game. If you’re a fan of both K-Pop and League, you’re probably thrilled right now. That’s a little Worlds humor for you, free of charge. You’re welcome.
