Riot developers provide insights on latest PBE updates for Teemo

Changes Coming to Teemo in League of Legends

Teemo, one of the most popular champions in League of Legends, is set to undergo some changes on the game’s Public Beta Environment (PBE).

Last week, Jeevun “Jag” Sidhu, the senior game designer on Riot’s champions team, shared the details of the upcoming changes to Teemo on the League forums. According to Jag, Teemo will have reduced damage and will no longer receive bonus HP on his mushrooms. However, his mushrooms will now be able to bounce indefinitely.

In addition, Teemo’s invisibility has been modified. He can now enter stealth while moving, but enemies can still reveal him by dealing damage. This change is aimed at allowing Teemo players to be more strategic in ambushing opponents, while still providing counterplay for opponents.

To make Teemo’s invisibility more interactive, he will now leave behind footsteps while moving invisibly. This will serve as a warning to opposing players. Jag explained that this change was made to maintain the balance between Teemo’s abilities and to potentially enhance the invisibility mechanic without completely removing it.

These changes are an ongoing part of the discussion that started with Teemo’s 10th birthday PBE changes. The initial proposal to replace invisibility with a camouflage system was met with strong opposition from players. In response, Jag and the team have reevaluated their plans and made these new adjustments.

While the response to these changes has been relatively more positive, some players still believe that Teemo’s W ability, which increases his movement speed, is too weak. It remains to be seen if the developers will address these concerns.

As is customary with reworked champions, the PBE changes will likely be removed for a few months while the developers work on the visual effects before officially releasing the updated Teemo.
