Riot August confirms top lane Soraka’s overpowering strength, anticipates significant nerf

Soraka Top Becomes Dominant Pick in League of Legends, But Nerfs Are Coming

In recent weeks, Soraka has emerged as a popular and powerful choice in both professional and casual League of Legends play. However, Riot Games has announced that they will be implementing nerfs to balance her gameplay.

August Browning, Riot’s senior champion designer, has noted that Soraka has one of the highest win rates among top lane champions. As a result, the developers will be making adjustments to her abilities in upcoming patches.

One of the reasons Soraka is so strong in the top lane is her ability to sustain herself with low mana cost abilities that offer significant healing. Her self-healing and movement speed from her Q ability allow her to nullify trade damage and hold her own against most top lane champions.

Additionally, Soraka can reach her power spikes earlier in the game due to her increased gold and experience gained in the top lane. This enables her to provide immense heals to her team during teamfights.

Even professional players have taken notice of Soraka’s dominance, with G2 Esports recently utilizing her in the LEC. While they secured the win with other champions, Soraka’s popularity among pros highlights her strength.

Nerfs for Soraka are expected to be implemented in Patch 10.4 of League of Legends later this month.
