Riot announces official dates for League of Legends regional leagues

New Competitive Season for League of Legends to Begin Soon

League of Legends fans, get ready for an exciting new year! Riot Games has announced the starting dates for all regional leagues, including LCS, LEC, LCK, and LPL. The action kicks off on Monday, January 13, with a showdown between the defending champions FunPlus Phoenix and the 2018 champs, Invictus Gaming.

Exciting Roster Changes for FunPlus Phoenix and Invictus Gaming

FunPlus Phoenix enters the season with a confident roster, including their new addition, former T1 top laner Kim “Khan” Dong-ha. On the other hand, Invictus Gaming has made changes to their bottom lane, with ADC Ding “Puff” Wang joining the team. Catch all the action on the official LoL Esports stream.

Regional Leagues Start Dates

Following the LPL match, the LEC, LCS, and CBLOL will begin the following weekend on Friday, January 24. The Vietnam Championship Series and the Oceanic Pro League start on Friday, January 31. The LCK begins on Wednesday, February 5, and the other major leagues start throughout February, culminating in the last league starting on Saturday, February 22.

Spring Split, Mid-Season Invitational, and World Championship

From January to May, teams will compete in the Spring Split, with the top team representing their region at the 2020 Mid-Season Invitational. Following that, teams will battle it out from June to September during the Summer Split, and the top teams from that season will qualify for the World Championship in China.
