Riot announces long-term collaboration with Spotify

Riot Games Partners with Spotify for Exclusive Audio Streaming Experience

Riot Games has recently announced a multiyear partnership with Spotify, making Spotify the official audio streaming partner for League of Legends esports global events.

Spotify’s June Sauvaget expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “Our partnership with Riot Games will create a unique audio universe for millions of Spotify and League of Legends fans worldwide.” Sauvaget also mentioned that as the exclusive global audio service partner for League of Legends Esports, Spotify aims to provide the best audio streaming experience for its users, making music and podcast discovery easier than ever before.

As part of the partnership, Spotify and Riot will collaborate on producing a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the Worlds anthem. They will also develop several podcasts, including “Untold Stories: Top Moments from Worlds,” which will feature a story from each year of Worlds.

Naz Aletaha, Riot’s head of global esports partnerships, emphasized the importance of music and storytelling in the League of Legends community and expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Spotify. Aletaha stated, “We are excited to partner with Spotify to provide our fans with another platform to enjoy a new manifestation of League of Legends esports.”

In addition, Spotify will release curated playlists inspired by the League community and launch the League Esports Music Hub. Spotify will also serve as the presenting partner for every game five played at the World Championship and Mid-Season Invitational.

League of Legends is currently available on Spotify with nine seasons of character and event theme music, as well as various themes for the World Championship, All-Stars, and MSI.
