Riot announces Clash update, reveals global beta to be held in December

Riot Games Confident in Simultaneous Global Beta for Clash

Riot Games, the developer of the popular League of Legends game, has announced plans for a global beta test of its tournament-style game mode called Clash. The company is confident in its ability to hold a successful beta test this winter, following multiple test runs in different regions.

Testing Periods in December

According to Riot designer Jon “IAmWalrus” Moorman, Clash will be tested on two weekends in December. The first test period will take place on Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8, while the second test period will be held on Saturday, December 14 and Sunday, December 15.

Exclusive Rewards and Ticketing System

During the two-weekend Clash tournament, players will have the opportunity to earn new and exclusive rewards. However, in order to compete, players will need to unlock Basic Tickets through missions, the Clash website, or with Blue Essence.

Rocky History and Successful Testing

Clash has faced challenges in the past, with technical issues occurring in various regions around the world. This resulted in the mode being put on hold for almost a year while developers worked on it. Many League fans were doubtful that Clash would ever be released after its troubled debut.

However, Riot Games has stated that the recent testing phases have gone well and any issues that arose were quickly resolved. This global beta test is the final step before Clash is officially launched in “a few months into 2020.”
