League of Legends LCS Championship Returns with In-Person Audience
After more than a year, fans of League of Legends will finally have the opportunity to see their favorite North American pros compete live. The 2021 LCS Championship has been confirmed to take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, with fans and press allowed to attend in person, as announced by Riot Games.
Exciting Format and Dates
Previously known as the Summer Finals, the LCS Championship will span two days from Saturday, Aug. 28 to Sunday, Aug. 29. The final two best-of-five matches of the season will be played out, with the lower bracket final taking place on the first day and the grand finals on the following day.
The postseason will commence on Saturday, Aug. 7, featuring the top eight teams from a year’s worth of competition. These teams will compete for the LCS trophy and the opportunity to represent North America at the 2021 World Championship in China, with only three slots available for the region.
Home to Exciting Events
The Prudential Center, home to the NHL’s New Jersey Devils, has a seating capacity of up to 19,500 fans. It has previously hosted various concerts, sporting events, and the Rocket League Championship Series S7 Finals in June 2019.

Riot is strongly encouraging all attendees to get vaccinated against COVID-19 before attending the LCS Championship. Additionally, fans purchasing tickets through the official LCS website are required to comply with all federal, state, and local health and safety protocols.
