Riot addresses MMR problem in Nexus Blitz to enhance match fairness.

MMR Issue in Nexus Blitz Addressed, Matches Now More Balanced

The game director of League of Legends, Andrei “Meddler” van Roon, announced today that the MMR issue in the recently returned Nexus Blitz mode has been resolved. Matches moving forward should now be better matched, resulting in a fairer experience for players.

“We’ve addressed an MMR issue that was present for Nexus Blitz day 1,” said Meddler. “Matches going forward [sic] should be better matched and therefore feel fairer as a result.”

MMR, or matchmaking rating, determines the skill level of each player. While this is most important in ranked queues to ensure fair and balanced matches, players also receive a hidden MMR in non-competitive lobbies.

Players who jumped into Nexus Blitz were experiencing one-sided matches due to the MMR hiccup, but this issue has now been resolved.

Nexus Blitz: A Brief Overview

Nexus Blitz was initially introduced as an experimental game mode in 2018. Due to its positive reception, Riot decided to bring it back temporarily this year as part of the Spirit Blossom summer event. Set in an Ionian forest, the game mode offers players a unique experience with its diverse fauna and flora.

However, Nexus Blitz is expected to be vaulted once the Spirit Blossom event concludes in late August.
