Revamped Roster Seeks Redemption in LEC Summer Split: Team Heretics

Team Heretics Makes Roster Changes for LEC Summer Split

The LEC landscape is evolving ahead of the Summer Split, as Team Heretics looks to improve its performance with new additions to its roster.

Team Heretics, one of the newest teams in the LEC, has announced several changes to its roster for the upcoming 2023 Summer Split. The team will retain Evi, Jankos, and Mersa, while also adding former Excel mid laner Vetheo and bringing back ADC Flakked to the main stage. This is the first roster change for Team Heretics this year.

Struggles and Challenges for Team Heretics

Team Heretics’ debut year in the LEC has been a mix of successes and setbacks. The team faced significant difficulties at the beginning of the Winter Split but managed to secure a spot in the group stage. However, they were eliminated in the first round of the group stage.

Unfortunately, the team’s struggles continued into the Spring Split. In one of Heretics’ post-game interviews, jungler Jankos revealed that the team had been dealing with internal stress, which affected their communication. Despite each player’s individual talent, they couldn’t function cohesively as a team, leading to their failure to advance into the group stage.

The Return of Flakked to the LEC

Flakked, who previously played for G2 Esports, will be returning to the LEC stage after spending some time with Heretics’ EMEA regional league team. During his time with G2 Esports, Flakked achieved significant success, winning in his debut split as a rookie and making a name for himself internationally at events such as MSI and the 2022 World Championship.

The Road to Redemption for Team Heretics

The 2023 LEC Summer Split is scheduled to begin on June 17, with Team Heretics facing SK Gaming in their first game. This marks their opportunity for redemption as they aim to end their debut year in the LEC on a high note.
