Reports: 100 Thieves Looks to LCK Talent for Potential Replacement for Bjergsen in LCS 2023 Summer

100 Thieves Reportedly Signs LCK Prospect Quid for Mid Lane

The offseason has been filled with changes for 100 Thieves’ League of Legends team. Following the retirement of their superstar mid laner Bjergsen, the organization has been searching for a replacement. Now, reports on April 26 suggest that 100 Thieves is looking to the LCK and has reached a verbal agreement with one of its rising stars.

According to esports journalist Alejandro Gomis, 100 Thieves has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Gen.G Academy’s Lim “Quid” Hyeon-seung.

At 18 years old, Quid would be making his debut in a major League of Legends region, joining the LCS alongside experienced players.

Quid joined Gen.G’s development system in 2020 and has played for both the Academy and Challenger teams. He has even competed alongside Gen.G’s AD carry Peyz, who recently won the 2023 LCK Spring Finals MVP award.

This year, Quid has played champions like Azir, Sylas, Jayce, Taliyah, Ahri, and Akali.

Given his limited experience, Quid will likely need time to adjust to the LCS stage and the higher level of play.

Guidance Needed for Quid’s Development

During the 2023 Spring Split, Quid had a high number of deaths among the LCK CL mid laners. However, he also showed promise with strong early game performance and high damage stats, according to Oracle’s Elixir. He will rely on guidance from 100 Thieves’ coaching staff and teammates to feel comfortable in this pressure-filled season, as players vie for a spot at this year’s World Championship.

While no official announcement has been made by 100 Thieves regarding their new mid lane signing, it seems that Quid will be joining the organization.
