Reportedly, 2 LCS teams are set to swap supports before the 2023 Summer Split.

Evil Geniuses Acquires FlyQuest’s Support Eyla, Swapping Supports in the LCS

According to the latest report by journalist Brieuc “LEC Wooloo” Seeger, two LCS teams are set to swap their support players. The report states that Evil Geniuses has acquired FlyQuest’s support player Eyla, who will join the LCS roster. This confirms earlier reports by Seeger that FlyQuest will be signing former EG player Vulcan.

Eyla’s Challenging 2023 LCS Spring Split

Eyla faced a difficult 2023 LCS Spring Split, plagued by visa issues and mixed performances. Due to visa problems, Eyla was initially replaced by FlyQuest’s academy support Winsome at the beginning of the season. However, the visa issues were resolved by week five, and Eyla returned to the starting roster.

Throughout the remainder of the regular season, Eyla served as FlyQuest’s main support, except for the final series against Golden Guardians in the 2023 LCS Spring Playoffs. Unfortunately, FlyQuest lost the series, denying them a spot in the Mid-Season Invitational 2023.

Comparing Eyla and Vulcan’s Performances

During the 2023 LCS Spring Split, Eyla had limited opportunities to shine. He achieved a decent KDA of 3.7 and recorded 90 assists in the regular season. In comparison, Vulcan had the fourth-highest KDA in the league of 4.8 but played nine more games than Eyla.

Upcoming LCS Summer Split and Official Announcement

Both organizations still have time to finalize the deal as the 2023 LCS Summer Split is scheduled to begin on June 1.
