Report: Vitality Set to Transform Support Role with Kaiser’s Arrival, Labrov’s Departure

Team Vitality Makes Support Position Swap with MAD Lions

Team Vitality has reportedly made a significant change in their support position for the upcoming 2023 season. According to a report from Marián Stoica of Blix.gg, they have acquired Kaiser, a long-time support player from MAD Lions.

In a corresponding move, Alejandro Gomis of Blix.gg reported that Labrov, Team Vitality’s support for the 2022 season, will be joining Team BDS. The completion of Labrov’s contract sale was reportedly finalized earlier today.

Kaiser’s Impressive Career with MAD Lions

Kaiser has been a part of MAD Lions’ team since the 2020 season and has remained with them throughout his LEC career. With Kaiser’s help, MAD Lions qualified for the League World Championship for three consecutive years. While they were eliminated in the play-in stage in 2020 and 2022, they achieved a top-eight finish at Worlds in 2021.

The 2021 season was particularly successful for MAD Lions, as they won both the Spring and Summer splits in the LEC. This made them the first team, apart from G2 Esports and Fnatic, to win the modern league.

Vitality’s Struggles in the 2022 Season

Contrary to expectations, Team Vitality did not meet the high expectations set for them as the supposed “super team” of the LEC. Despite being considered the strongest western roster at the start of the year, they failed to qualify for the LEC Summer Split playoffs, let alone the World Championship.

According to independent League journalist Brieuc Seeger, Vitality and MAD Lions have reached an agreement to send AD carry Carzzy back to his former team. This news adds another layer of complexity to the upcoming changes for both teams.

The Transfer of Carzzy and Kaiser

Carzzy, who will reportedly be rejoining MAD Lions after a year with Vitality, will exchange teams with Kaiser in 2023. With Kaiser’s arrival, Team Vitality aims to strengthen their roster and improve their performance in the upcoming season.

As per the League contract database, Kaiser is under contract with MAD Lions until the end of 2023, while Labrov’s contract with Vitality extends until the end of 2024.
