Report: Veteran ADC Carzzy Set to Reunite with Former Team MAD Lions for 2023 LEC Season

Team Vitality Carzzy to Return to MAD Lions for 2023 LEC Season

According to independent League of Legends journalist Brieuc Seeger, Team Vitality AD carry Carzzy is reportedly making a return to his former team, MAD Lions, this offseason. Carzzy played for MAD Lions for the majority of his career, and he led the team to consecutive World Championships in 2020 and 2021. However, he joined Team Vitality in 2022 with hopes of dominating Europe. Unfortunately, the team did not qualify for the LEC Summer Split playoffs, which led Carzzy to explore his options for a new team.

Carzzy Chooses MAD Lions over Fnatic

According to Seeger’s report, Carzzy had narrowed down his choices for the 2023 season to MAD Lions and Fnatic. In the end, he chose to return to his former employer, MAD Lions. If the reports are true and Fnatic is in need of a new ADC, their current position-holder Upset could also be on the move, which could lead to changes in multiple bottom lanes across the LEC.

Uncertain Future for MAD Lions’ Unforgiven

It remains uncertain what the future holds for MAD Lions’ ADC Unforgiven, who joined the team at the beginning of the year due to Carzzy’s departure. Unforgiven is under contract with MAD Lions until the end of the 2024 season. According to the League global contract database, all of MAD Lions’ current starters are signed through at least the end of the next year.

Carzzy also has a contract with Vitality that extends until the end of 2024. Any team interested in acquiring his contract would need to negotiate a buyout or trade.
