Report: LoL veteran Jensen set to join fourth LCS team for 2024 season

Nicolaj Jensen Joins FlyQuest for 2024 LCS Season

Nicolaj Jensen, known for his impressive performances in the mid lane of League of Legends, has reportedly found a new team for the 2024 LCS season. After just one year with Dignitas, Jensen will be replacing VicLa at FlyQuest.

The news of this roster change was first reported by Sheep Esports, a reputable League blog, on Nov. 14. Jensen will now embark on his fourth quest for LCS glory after missing the League World Championships for the first time while playing with Dignitas this year.

Despite Dignitas’ tenth-placed finish in the Spring Split, Jensen’s efforts helped the team make it to the LCS Championship in August. They managed to defeat TSM but ultimately lost to Golden Guardians, finishing in fifth place.

While Jensen’s departure from Dignitas has not been officially confirmed yet, today’s shift to FlyQuest aligns with previous reports of his departure from the North American esports organization. If these reports are true, this will be Jensen’s fourth team in four years.

According to Sheep Esports’ report, another European team was interested in signing Jensen for the first split of the 2024 season. However, FlyQuest secured the signing of the Danish veteran, ensuring his presence in the U.S. for at least the first split of the new year.

Jensen’s new team, FlyQuest, underwent significant changes during this off-season, bidding farewell to most of its 2023 roster in September. With the addition of Jensen, as well as Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau, Kacper “Inspired” Słoma, Fahad “Massu” Abdulmalek, and Alan “Busio” Cwalina, FlyQuest aims to combine youth and experience to contend for a top spot in the LCS and potentially secure a second appearance at Worlds.

FlyQuest’s last appearance in the League World Championships was in 2020, where they narrowly missed the quarterfinals with a roster led by Santorin, WildTurtle, and IgNar.

Jensen and FlyQuest are set to kick off their 2024 LCS campaign in January.
