Report: Hiiva Joins Misfits

Aleksi “Hiiva” Kaikkonen joins Misfits

Misfits has reportedly signed Aleksi “Hiiva” Kaikkonen, according to Riot’s official contract database. After starting the 2017 Spring Split with Origen, Hiiva is now contracted under Misfits until the end of the season.

This isn’t the first time Misfits has taken on a former Origen player. Last year, Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage joined Misfits after a disappointing summer split with Origen.

Unknown role for Hiiva

The addition of Hiiva to Misfits has not been officially announced, and his role within the team is unknown. It is likely that he will serve as a substitute player.

Hiiva struggled during his time with Origen, as the team currently sits at the bottom of Group B. His contract was terminated by Origen, and Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez stepped in during week six to try and turn the team’s fortunes around.

Misfits vying for EU spot at MSI 2017

Misfits currently holds the second place in Group A, with only one loss this split against first place G2 Esports. They are considered favorites to challenge G2 for the EU spot at MSI 2017, which will take place in Brazil this year.
