Renekton Dominates Most Picked List with an 81 Percent Pick Rate in the LCS

Week 9 of the League of Legends Championship Series

The ninth week of the League of Legends Championship Series was a turbulent one for Europe. The top three teams all had a win and a loss, creating an opportunity for other teams to catch up in the fight for playoff seeding. Currently, five teams are within one game of first place.

North America Dominates

In contrast, the top three teams in North America have widened the gap even further. Counter Logic Gaming, who is currently in third place, is now five full games ahead of fourth place Dignitas.

So why is there such a difference in performance? The statistics tell the story. The top three teams in North America have an average gold-per-minute of 580 more than the other five teams. It’s like having an extra player on your team focused solely on farming minions for gold. In comparison, the bottom five teams in Europe have a higher average gold income rate, albeit by just 18. The statistics make it clear that North America has a more balanced playing field. Check out the infographic below for more details.

Notable Performances

This week, Team SoloMid once again topped the gold-per-minute leaderboard, showcasing their dominance in the game. Alliance also had an impressive week, securing four out of the five European MVP slots. One surprising statistic is the reptilian champion, Renekton, who now has the highest pick rate at 81 percent and a solid 62 percent win rate when chosen.
