Rekkles receives MVP award for 2018 EU LCS Spring Split

Fnatic’s ADC Rekkles Wins 2018 EU LCS Spring Split MVP

Fnatic’s ADC Martin “Rekkles” Larsson has been honored with the title of 2018 EU LCS Spring Split MVP. Riot made the announcement just before the start of the Spring Split Finals between Fnatic and G2 Esports.

This is the second time Rekkles has been awarded MVP two seasons in a row, following G2 Esports’ former jungler Kim “Trick” Gang-yun who won the award in the 2016 Spring and Summer Splits. It also marks Rekkles’ third regular season MVP award, having previously won in the 2014 Summer Split and the 2017 Spring Split.

Rekkles played a pivotal role in Fnatic’s success throughout the season. The team finished in first place with an impressive 14-4 record, securing a first-round playoff bye. They then defeated Vitality 3-1 in the semifinals, setting up a highly-anticipated match against G2 Esports in the finals.

According to Riot Games, only four out of 41 eligible voters did not select Rekkles as their top MVP candidate, giving him 86 percent of the first-place votes. Voters who are affiliated with Fnatic are not allowed to vote for players on their own team.

Rekkles dominated the regular season stats in the EU LCS, ranking first in KDA, kill participation, and more. No other ADC came close to challenging his success in various rankings.

Today, Rekkles and the rest of Fnatic will face off against G2 Esports in the EU LCS Spring Split finals. Will Fnatic reclaim their throne, or will G2 Esports continue their reign?
