Rekkles discloses that Fnatic has never practiced with G2 Esports in scrimmages

The Fnatic vs. G2 Esports Feud Continues: Rekkles Reveals Lack of Scrims

The intense rivalry between Fnatic and G2 Esports shows no signs of cooling down. Star ADC Martin “Rekkles” Larsson recently shared on his stream that Fnatic has not been scrimming against G2 Esports this season, leaving him unsure of their competitiveness.

In response to a fan question about the LEC playoffs, Rekkles admitted, “I don’t know how good G2 is because we don’t scrimmage with them ever. Never had, probably never will.” Although Rekkles did not provide further explanation, he appeared to contemplate whether disclosing the reasons behind this decision would be appropriate.

Rekkles, ultimately, chose not to disclose the details of why Fnatic has refrained from scrimming against G2 Esports as he believed it would be unnecessary. However, he expressed confidence in Fnatic’s ability to defeat every other team in the LEC. This assurance stems from their success in scrimmages and on-stage performances against most of the other teams in the league.

A History of Rivalry: Fnatic and G2 Esports

Fnatic and G2 Esports have long been fierce rivals on-stage, but tensions escalated when G2 acquired Fnatic’s superstar mid laner, Rasmus “Caps” Winther. The recent offseason witnessed a flurry of significant signings, but none were as substantial or unexpected as the acquisition of Caps by G2.

Caps had just reached the Finals of Worlds with Fnatic, leading many to believe that he would be their cornerstone for the future. The situation was further complicated when G2 announced the signing, prompting Fnatic’s founder, Sam Mathews, to accuse G2 Esports of poaching. It is likely that these factors contribute to Fnatic’s decision to abstain from scrimming against their rivals this season, and potentially in the future.

The Clash Continues: Fnatic vs. G2 Esports

In their previous encounter in the first week of the season, G2 Esports emerged victorious over Fnatic without much difficulty. However, Fnatic has since made significant improvements and now stands as one of the top three teams in the region. Fans of both teams can eagerly anticipate their next clash, set to take place this Friday at 2pm CT.
