Regaining Momentum: Discovering Their Peak

Counter Logic Gaming Defeats Team Solo Mid in LCS Finals

The Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) squad, led by renowned AD carry Doublelift, has finally achieved their first finals appearance and victory in the LCS after over three years of experience. CLG dominated their long-time rivals, Team Solo Mid (TSM), with a clean sweep of 3-0. This series showcased the team’s exceptional gameplay since the solidification of their roster, following the spring split of the NA LCS.

Building a Strong Foundation

CLG has had a history of faltering in the past, leading the LCS early in the split but then experiencing a significant drop in performance. However, something changed during the summer split. CLG emerged as a strong contender, finishing the regular season in second place after a tiebreaker loss to Team Liquid. This improvement allowed CLG to enter the playoffs with a higher ranking than their performance in the Spring.

In the Summer playoffs, CLG faced Team Impulse and impressed spectators not only with their victories but also with their exceptional teamwork. Unlike the CLG of the past, which would have crumbled under playoff pressure, the current lineup took control of the games and dictated the pace. Utilizing their superior mid and bottom lanes, as well as better map control, CLG claimed victory after victory in shorter and shorter timeframes. This historic win secured their spot in the NA LCS finals.

The Final Showdown Against TSM

In the finals, CLG faced their long-time rivals, Team Solo Mid, against whom they had a poor record. Despite TSM’s previous dominance and a 0-2 record for CLG in the regular season, CLG’s momentum from defeating Team Impulse proved insurmountable.

Throughout the finals, every member of CLG outperformed their TSM counterparts. Game one showcased a strategic advantage for CLG, with a well-executed pick and ban phase. Game two saw Pobelter and Doublelift shine on formidable champions, resulting in a pentakill for Doublelift. In game three, Xmithie’s exceptional performance on Ekko solidified the victory for CLG, toppling the titan of TSM.

With thousands of fans cheering them on at Madison Square Garden, CLG defied expectations and discovered their true form.
