Red Bull and Super League Gaming collaborate to introduce All-Stars event for aspiring gamers

Red Bull and Super League Gaming Partner to Create Premier Tournament for Amateur League of Legends Players

Red Bull and Super League Gaming have teamed up to bring North America’s top amateur League of Legends players together in the Red Bull All-Stars tournament. Taking place on June 23, this event will highlight the top competitors from Super League’s third season of the League of Legends City Champs tournament.

About City Champs

Since its establishment in 2016 by SLG, City Champs has become the largest League of Legends competition for amateur players in North America. The tournament, which recently concluded its third season with 16 host cities, brings players of all skill levels to local theaters and gaming arenas to participate in LAN tournaments, providing a similar experience to that of professional players.

The Red Bull All-Stars Showcase

For the first time ever, the top four teams from City Champs will compete in the Red Bull All-Stars showcase, which will take place in Red Bull’s esports studio in Santa Monica, CA. The four teams invited to this year’s event are the Dallas Dynamite, Miami Menace, Seattle Siege, and Tampa Bay Dungeoneers.

“Part of Super League’s mission is to give aspiring amateur gamers the opportunity to participate in competitions that resemble the professional experience,” said Ann Hand, CEO of Super League Gaming. “By partnering with Red Bull, we can raise the bar and further our mission of becoming a true minor league for esports.”

Growth of City Champs

City Champs has experienced significant growth since its inception two years ago. Initially, only four teams from Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Miami participated in the first season. However, it has now become a national phenomenon and a promising model for League of Legends esports.

“Amateur competition is a fundamental aspect of all sports. Super League’s All-Star tournament, in collaboration with Red Bull, represents an important milestone,” said Chris Wyatt, Program Lead for Riot Games. “We are excited to witness the All-Stars come together and showcase their skills in this thrilling event.”

Red Bull’s Support for Esports

Red Bull has been a long-time supporter of esports, sponsoring teams like Cloud9, who competes in the NA LCS, and notable players like popular Fortnite streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. The company has also sponsored tournaments in the past, and this collaboration signifies an increased commitment to supporting competitive gaming.

Don’t miss the Red Bull All-Stars tournament on June 23, starting at 10:45am CT, which will be livestreamed on SLG’s website.
