Qiyana: The Next League of Legends Champion Revealed
Qiyana, a jungle assassin, has been unveiled as the upcoming champion in League of Legends. On Thursday, Riot released a teaser trailer featuring this mysterious woman.
In the champion roadmap from April, Riot revealed that Qiyana would be an AD-based assassin from a new region called Ixaocan. This exotic region is a previously unknown part of Runeterra.
One of the most striking features of Qiyana’s design is the large scythe-like weapon she wields, which is as tall as her. It is reminiscent of Diana’s weapon and Sivir’s.
Qiyana’s official title is “Empress of the Elements.” Based on the video, it appears that she will have the ability to manipulate terrain in a unique way. She interacts with both foliage and earth, similar to a combination of Ivern and Taliyah.
While absorbing essence from the land into her weapon, Qiyana declares, “I have raised jungles, shaped lands, and commanded rivers.” It is possible that she will receive a stat buff depending on the type of terrain she is in. Riot mentioned in the roadmap that she can “use her surroundings in clever and innovative ways” and to “stay away from the walls.” We are eagerly awaiting further details about her abilities.
