Pursuing Perfection: North American LCS 2016 Summer Split Week 8 Power Rankings

NA LCS Power Rankings – Week 8 (Summer Split 2016)

The North American League Championship Series (NA LCS) has completed its seventh week of action, and GAMURS has updated its power rankings accordingly. The rankings are based on input from GAMURS staff members who were asked to rank the 10 teams from best to worst. Points are rewarded to each team based on their ranking, with the first place team receiving 10 points and the tenth place team receiving one point.

After each week of matches, GAMURS will release another power rankings article reflecting the teams’ performances, so be sure to check back regularly for updates.

Here are the power rankings for the eighth week of the NA LCS:

1. Team SoloMid (70 total points – 7 first place votes): No change

The dominant performances by TSM have secured them the top spot in the rankings. They remain undefeated with a series count of 14-0 and a game count of 28-3. TSM’s remarkable win streak of 16 straight games since week four has solidified their status as the strongest team in North America.

2. Immortals (63 total points): No change

Immortals also had a successful week, going 2-0. While they have suffered one loss, they still remain a strong contender in the NA LCS. Their upcoming rematch against TSM in week nine will be a highly anticipated match-up, as it will likely determine the true top team in the league.

3. Team Liquid (52 total points): No change

Team Liquid had a 1-1 week, which was expected given their inconsistent performances throughout the split. They have a chance to redeem themselves in their upcoming match against Counter Logic Gaming, who are looking to prove themselves as a top North American team.

4. Counter Logic Gaming (48 total points): +1

CLG had an impressive week, defeating Cloud9 2-1 and putting up a tough fight against Immortals in a 1-2 loss. CLG has shown consistent improvement and resilience, making them a formidable team in the league.

5. Cloud9 (47 total points): -1

Cloud9 had a disappointing week, going 1-1 and struggling against Apex Gaming. Their loss to CLG dropped them in the rankings, highlighting the competitive nature of the top teams in the league.

6. Team EnVyUs (31 total points): No change

EnVyUs had another lackluster week, going 1-1 and failing to impress. They will need to step up their game in future matches against stronger teams like Cloud9 and TSM.

7. Phoenix1 (25 total points): No change

Phoenix1 showed some improvement with a win over NRG eSports, but they still have a tough road ahead. Their next four series against TSM, Cloud9, EnVyUs, and Immortals will determine their fate in the league.

8. NRG eSports (22 total points): +1

NRG eSports surprised many with their 2-0 victory over EnVyUs. However, their inconsistent performance throughout the split puts them at a lower rank in the power rankings.

9. Apex Gaming (20 total points): -1

Apex Gaming had a tough week, losing both of their matches 1-2. As the bottom teams in the league remain unpredictable, Apex finds themselves lower in the rankings.

10. Echo Fox (7 total points): No change

Echo Fox had another winless week, losing to both TSM and Immortals. They are considered the weakest team in the league and will likely face relegation matches against Team Liquid Academy.

These power rankings reflect the current state of the NA LCS teams and their performances in the eighth week of the Summer Split 2016. Stay tuned for more updates on the rankings in the following weeks.
