Promising LoL Player from NA Asserts Dominance in LCS Mid Lane

Young Star Jojopyun Shines in LCS Summer Split

North American League of Legends fans, get ready to witness the rise of one of the region’s brightest talents. Evil Geniuses’ mid laner Jojopyun has made a remarkable comeback after a disappointing previous season, establishing himself as the best player in his role during the first half of the 2023 LCS Summer Split. At just 18 years old, Jojopyun has not only improved his skills but has also become a dependable carry for his teammates, propelling them to the top spot in the league standings.

Over the past three weeks, Jojopyun has dominated the competition, leading all LCS mid laners in key stats such as a 6.2 KDA and 655 average damage per minute. He ranks in the top three for kills, kill participation, overall kill share, and damage share, making him an undeniable leader in his team’s recent successes. (Source: Oracle’s Elixir)

One significant improvement for Jojopyun compared to last season is his performance during the early game. He boasts the highest average gold, experience, and CS difference at 15 minutes, along with an impressive 44 percent first blood rate.

His solo laning skills have shown remarkable growth, and he now actively supports his team by roaming when necessary. This development can be attributed to Jojopyun’s bootcamp in South Korea after Evil Geniuses’ early playoff exit against Golden Guardians.

In an interview with Ashley Kang, Jojopyun revealed that the disappointing postseason loss motivated him to address his underperformance and secure a spot in the World Championship. Spending three weeks competing against some of the world’s best players in South Korea played a crucial role in his improvement. His mindset has also shifted, as he now takes the Summer Split much more seriously than he did the previous one.

Jojopyun’s resurgence couldn’t have come at a better time, as many doubted Evil Geniuses’ prospects for the summer. However, he must continue to elevate his game as the season progresses, considering other teams’ improvements and adaptations in playstyles and champion pools.
