Famous Voice Actor Known for League of Legends Dies at 75

Brazilian voice actor José Carlos Guerra, who was famous for his role as the voice of jungler Ivern in League of Legends, has sadly passed away at the age of 75. He died from respiratory failure due to lung cancer.

Guerra was not only known for his work in League of Legends, but also for dubbing material in popular anime shows like Dragon Ball Super, Naruto: Shippuuden, and even Futurama. His portrayal of the Green Father in League of Legends was some of his most recent work.

A Legacy in Acting and Voice Acting

Throughout his life, Guerra dedicated himself to acting and voice acting. He started his career in the 1960s and his most notable work was dubbing Commissioner Gordon in the 1966 Batman series, as reported by Brazilian news portal G1.

A Tragedy for the League Community

This year has seen multiple losses for the League community. On April 12, Keiji Fujiwara, the Japanese voice actor for Master Yi, passed away at the age of 55 after battling cancer. His family held a private wake and funeral to say their goodbyes.

Lung Cancer—a Global Concern

Guerra’s cause of death, lung cancer, is one of the most common and deadliest forms of cancer worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, the illness affects around two million people globally. In Brazil alone, there were 18,740 new cases of lung cancer in men two years ago, as stated in the Journal of Thoracic Oncology.

Guerra was laid to rest in the Cambará Municipal Cemetery as reported by G1.
