Preview of the NA LCS Playoffs

The North American League Championship Series Playoffs Are Here

The regular season is over, and the top six teams in North America are ready to prove themselves in the playoffs. Team SoloMid dominated this season, but will they be able to avoid an early exit like last split? Counter Logic Gaming aims to win their third consecutive championship, while Team EnVyUs wants to establish themselves as a strong presence in the League Championship Series. The playoffs will culminate in a champion being crowned at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Top Seeded Teams Get a Round One Bye

TSM and Immortals, the top two seeded teams, have earned themselves a round one bye, securing a spot in the semifinals. The remaining four teams, Cloud9, Team EnVyUs, Counter Logic Gaming, and Team Liquid, will have to win in three matches before they can compete for the championship.

Team SoloMid: The Dominating Force

Team SoloMid has been the best team in North America, dominating the regular season. With key player Vince “Biofrost” Wang, TSM is the favorite going into the playoffs. They hope to win their fourth title and redeem themselves after last year’s early exit.

Immortals: Seeking Revenge

Immortals suffered only two losses this season, both against TSM. They are eager to get their revenge in the form of a Summer Split Championship. The finals may be the only chance for these two teams to face each other in the playoffs.

Cloud9: Chasing Another Title

Cloud9 has consistently been the third-place team throughout the regular season. They have their sights set on their third LCS title, but they must first face Team EnVyUs and Immortals before potentially facing TSM in the finals.

Team EnVyUs: The Newcomers

Team EnVyUs is the only one of the three new teams to qualify for the playoffs. They had a strong start, but their momentum slowed. They are determined to win their first League of Legends championship, but they face tough competition from Cloud9, Immortals, and potentially TSM in the finals.

Counter Logic Gaming: Looking for a Three-Peat

Counter Logic Gaming had a rough start to the season, but they found their stride later on. As reigning champions, they are aiming for their third consecutive championship in Toronto.

Team Liquid: Overcoming Adversity

Team Liquid faced challenges with the suspension of their star player, Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett. However, they bounced back and performed consistently throughout the season. Now, they are pushing for their first LCS title.

The competition will kick off on August 13 with Cloud9 vs. Team EnVyUs, followed by reigning champions CLG vs. Team Liquid on August 14. Tune in to Twitch.tv to watch the games live, or follow @GAMURScom on Twitter for updates.
