Predictions for International Elo Ratings on April 23, 2015 (Wildcard, LCK and LPL)

International Elo Ratings

New International Elo Ratings have been released, including the same teams as last time. There have been some major changes in the ratings after the IWCI Group Stage. The Bangkok Titans have gained 86 points from their strong performance, making them the biggest beneficiary. On the other hand, DetFm and Kaos Lation Gaming each lost 49 points. Here are the updated ratings:

Minor changes have also been made by adding some previously un-included tournaments. These changes have generally been insignificant, with less than 1 point difference.

Good news for Coast, they are not last!

LPL, LCK and IWCI Predictions

There are several predictions for the upcoming LPL, LCK, and IWCI competitions. In the LPL Finals, EDG is the heavy favorite to win with almost a 50% chance of a 3-0 sweep and less than a 10% chance of losing the set. IG is also favored over Snake to claim the Circuit Points, although only 20 points are at stake in this game.

In Korea, SKT is expected to win 3-0 or 3-1 over CJ. However, many believe that the match will be closer since CJ showed great strength in their sweep of Jin Air. Nevertheless, SKT has been on a winning streak, only losing one game to KT in Week 8.

The Wildcard Semifinals are expected to be close, with INTZ having a small edge over Hard Random and a tossup between Beskitas and the Bangkok Titans, despite BKT’s 5-1 score in the group stage. There is a case to be made that the ratings underestimated SEA, and therefore BKT, relative to the other Wildcard Regions.

This table represents the predicted chance of each team winning the tournament as a whole and advancing to the Mid-Season Invitational:

Overall, it is a tossup, but INTZ remains favored. Personally, I do not disagree.
