PowerOfEvil and IgNar Could Potentially Depart from Misfits

PowerOfEvil and IgNar Possibly Leaving Misfits Gaming

Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage and Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun might leave Misfits Gaming, according to statements made on their Twitch channels today.

Both players hinted that they might not return to Europe for the 2018 season. Their contracts expire on Nov. 20, allowing them to negotiate with other teams.

Uncertain Future

PowerOfEvil’s intentions were unclear, while IgNar straightforwardly stated, “I don’t go to Europe again.” This could mean multiple things for their future.

A viewer asked PowerOfEvil why he would want to leave Misfits, considering the team’s progress throughout the 2017 season. His response, translated in a Reddit post, suggested that success, opportunities to improve with different teams, and money are the determining factors.

While PowerOfEvil’s situation may still be in negotiation, both players could be in high demand in the newly franchised NA LCS, particularly since there is a scarcity of exceptional mid laners in the region.

Troubling News

IgNar seems to be facing difficulties returning to the EU LCS, which could be detrimental to Misfits and their fans.

Misfits made their mark in League of Legends history by utilizing unconventional picks to challenge former world champions SK Telecom T1 in the quarterfinals. Though SKT ultimately won, Misfits put on a remarkable performance. IgNar played the now-famous Fervor of Battle Leona and Blitzcrank, while PowerOfEvil chose unconventional picks like mid Karma and Nashor’s Tooth Orianna.

Misfits showcased that League can be played in various ways, even against world champions. However, the team may potentially lose two key players that have become beloved by the EU LCS community.
