Power Rankings for the LEC: 2021 Summer Split Week 2

LEC Power Rankings: Shifting and Stabilizing

The 2021 LEC Summer Split has had its fair share of surprises, but now the league is starting to find its balance. While some teams have solidified their positions at the top, others are still making moves in the back-end. Let’s take a look at the current LEC power rankings heading into the third week of play.

Teams that Need Changes: Excel Esports, SK Gaming

Things are not looking good for Excel Esports and SK Gaming. SK has already made a change by bringing in Lillip from SK Prime to replace Jesiz in the support role. However, the team’s struggles go beyond a simple roster change. Confidence and objective control are areas they need to work on if they want to turn their 0-5 start around.

Excel’s situation appears a bit less dire, but they still have issues to address. Despite picking up two wins, their victories have been unconvincing, and their losses have been one-sided. They need to improve their proactivity and map presence to climb up in the standings.

Teams Making Headway: Astralis, Team Vitality, Schalke 04

Astralis had a promising week despite two losses. Their game against G2 showed their potential to compete against the best teams in the region. Vitality, on the other hand, has been underperforming with their new roster, but there are still bright spots in their individual players. Schalke 04’s win against G2 is keeping them in the race, although team synergy remains a challenge for them.

Strong Performances: Misfits, Fnatic

Misfits has been a surprising contender this season, showing consistency and coordination in their games. If they continue on this path, they could be a dark horse in the playoffs. Fnatic, after a shaky start, has found their groove with a new top-side duo. Their early game has been impressive, and their rookie top laner Adam has already showcased his versatility with various champions.

Returning to the Top: G2 Esports, MAD Lions, Rogue

G2 Esports has reclaimed their top spot in the LEC standings. Their gameplay has become more coordinated and precise, thanks in part to their new coach Nelson Sng. MAD Lions and Rogue are also expected to stay strong throughout the Summer Split, although MAD Lions needs to bounce back from a recent loss and secure wins this week.

Overall, the LEC is stabilizing, but there are still many weeks left for teams to compete and shake up the standings. It will be an exciting journey to watch. Stay tuned for more updates!
