Power Rankings for LEC’s 2021 Summer Split Week 3

The LEC Power Rankings Shuffle Once Again

The LEC power rankings have seen a major shake-up this week, with eight teams changing positions. The top half of the rankings may look unfamiliar to many fans due to this sudden shift. Previously, Rogue, G2 Esports, and MAD Lions were expected to dominate the league this summer. However, after just three weeks, both MAD and G2 have dropped three spots, falling out of the top three. It’s a wild ride, and these teams could easily bounce back to the top in the coming weeks.

Unpredictability Reigns in the LEC

The LEC continues to showcase its unpredictable nature. With plenty of League of Legends matches still to be played in Europe this summer, we can expect an exciting and unpredictable season. Here are the current LEC power rankings after three weeks of play in the 2021 Summer Split:

RankTeamRank change
1)Rogue+2
2)Misfits+2
3)Fnatic+2
4)G2 Esports-3
5)MAD Lions-3
6)Team Vitality+1
7)Excel Esports+2
8)Schalke 04
9)Astralis-3
10)SK Gaming

The Struggles of Schalke 04, Astralis, and SK Gaming

The bottom three teams, Schalke 04, Astralis, and SK Gaming, continue to face challenges in the LEC. Astralis and SK Gaming have had underwhelming performances in the first three weeks, while Schalke has shown some promise despite their current situation. However, all three teams are struggling with objective control, particularly when it comes to securing dragons. Schalke has the lowest dragon control in the league, and their jungler, Kirei, needs to step up his game to improve the team’s performance. SK Gaming shows potential, but the absence of direction from their former support player, Treatz, has affected their teamfighting.

Team Vitality and Excel Esports Fighting for Survival

Team Vitality and Excel Esports find themselves in precarious positions as they enter the fourth week of the Summer Split. While they may not be top contenders, there is still room for growth in the first half of the split. Both teams have the ability to surprise their opponents and secure wins when it matters most. Team Vitality’s recent victories over MAD Lions and G2 Esports, as well as Excel’s upset over MAD, demonstrate their potential. However, to compete with the top teams in the league, they need to string together more wins.

The Early-Split Slide of G2 Esports and MAD Lions

It’s surprising to see G2 Esports and MAD Lions performing below expectations this early in the split. MAD Lions, in particular, is struggling after their return from MSI, with a disappointing team KDA and the most team deaths in the league. G2 Esports, on the other hand, has lost some of its magic and is no longer considered the unstoppable force it once was. Despite having talented players, G2 Esports has average early-game stats, mid-tier objective control, and has struggled in teamfights. The competition in Europe has increased, and G2’s allure has diminished.

An Unfamiliar Top Three: Rogue, Misfits, Fnatic

Misfits currently holds the top spot in the LEC standings, thanks to their win over Fnatic in week one. However, Rogue is still considered the stronger team in our LEC power rankings. Misfits’ victories have been uninspiring, mainly against weaker opponents, while the one time they faced Rogue, they were completely outplayed. To solidify their position in the top three, Misfits will face tough challenges against MAD Lions and G2 Esports. The outcome of these matches will determine if Misfits can remain at the top.
