Power Rankings for LEC Spring Week Five, 2019

Week Five Chaos in LEC Rankings

Last week was one of the most chaotic weeks in the LEC so far this year. Upsets were rampant and predictions were blown to pieces.

Despite the mayhem, our voters didn’t change their opinions of the 10 LEC teams too much. Only Fnatic and SK saw changes in their rankings from last week.

Here are the final rankings:

2)Team Vitality35
3)FC Schalke 0431

Reboot for Excel and Rogue

Both Excel and Rogue made changes last week in an effort to reboot their performance. Excel brought in a new mid laner, Joran “Special” Scheffer, while Rogue made substitutions in the top and support positions.

Rogue managed to secure a win with their new players, but further changes may be needed. It is likely that Excel will make a substitution in the jungle, and Rogue may pair their support Vander with a new bot laner once the Greek military service of Konstantinos “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou is completed.

Fifty-Fifty: Splyce, Misfits, SK Gaming, Fnatic

Only two teams from this group are likely to make it to the playoffs. Surprisingly, our voters are still not confident in SK Gaming’s chances, despite their impressive performance last week. SK jungler Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek is in competition with Splyce mid laner Marek “Humanoid” Brazda for the rookie of the split honors.

Misfits and Fnatic both struggled in key moments last week. Their lack of strategic play has put them at risk of missing out on the playoffs.

Up or Down: Schalke, Origen

Schalke started strong this year but suffered a setback with their loss to Vitality. However, they remain in the third spot in the rankings. Origen, on the other hand, showed improvement with their win over G2. If Origen continues to perform well, they could overtake Schalke for the third spot.

Not Perfect: G2, Vitality

Week five wasn’t perfect for the top teams, G2 and Vitality. Both are still adjusting to the crit ADC meta. The team that figures it out first will likely have an advantage come playoff time.
