The New Champion Teased in League of Legends Universe
Riot seems to have dropped some hints about the new League of Legends champion on the game’s official lore platform, Universe. The teasers are set in Demacia, featuring the throne room and a person with two long, golden chains similar to the original champion teaser in Riot’s Champion Roadmap blog post from this summer.
The teasers confirm what we already knew – the upcoming champion will have chains or be related to chains in some way. However, there’s more to it. Despite sitting on the throne, this person is likely a Demacian criminal, not royalty. Chains are often associated with criminals, and this person is seen chaining up important Demacian heroes like Lux, Garen, and possibly Jarvan. The heroes appear to be in distress, suggesting that this person is an enemy to the crown of Demacia.
While this is all speculation for now, we eagerly await an official announcement from Riot for more information on this mysterious champion.
