Perkz demonstrates Aphelios’ continued strength

Aphelios Still Overpowered Despite Nerfs, Perkz Demonstrates

Aphelios, the latest AD carry in League of Legends, remains extremely strong despite multiple nerfs. G2’s Luka “Perkz” Perković showcased this live on his Twitch stream.

Aphelios has received several changes since his release in December, including nerfs to his damage and kit. While he can no longer effortlessly take on multiple opponents with the press of a button, he still dominates solo queue.

In a recent livestream, a fed Perkz confidently entered the jungle, used his ultimate, and decimated his opponents. They were grouped together, taking the full force of his damage. Perkz then chased them down, eliminating Yasuo and Miss Fortune before damaging the mid lane turret.

While Perkz had an impressive seven kills at the 18-minute mark, this doesn’t excuse the strength of Aphelios. Perkz didn’t have to put in much effort to secure the kills – a few button presses and auto attacks did the job.

This highlights that despite the nerfs in Patch 10.1, Aphelios still needs further adjustments. Although the AoE damage on his Infernum (R) has been reduced, along with his movement speed and base health, it’s clear that these changes haven’t been enough. Aphelios is reminiscent of the early days of Zoe, where opponents were easily taken down with little counterplay. While Aphelios has a complex kit with five different weapons, his playstyle is straightforward and requires little skill.

If Riot wants to address Aphelios’ overpowered state and prevent Perkz from having too much fun, additional nerfs are likely necessary.
