Perkz Criticizes European Teams: Lack of Quality

Vitality Shows Promise in LEC Spring Split, Eyes Playoffs Spot

Last week in the 2022 LEC Spring Split, Team Vitality impressed with wins against SK Gaming and Misfits. Despite their struggle against SK Gaming, Vitality is just one win away from securing a spot in the upcoming playoffs.

Vitality currently holds an 8-7 record and needs just one more win. With the superweek starting today and three games remaining, Vitality has a chance to fight for a place in the top four. Perkz, the team’s mid laner, is confident in Vitality’s abilities to succeed.

In a recent interview with journalist Tom Matthiesen, Perkz mentioned that Vitality has made noticeable improvements in communication and their synergy between the jungle and support roles. However, the team has faced seven losses this split, leaving some fans disappointed. Nevertheless, Perkz believes that regular season results aren’t the ultimate determining factor. He explained, “I’ve struggled before in regular seasons and ended up winning some of them.”

While there is a possibility that Vitality can finish in the top four, Perkz remains optimistic about their chances of reaching the playoffs. He confidently stated, “I think we will go 3-0 this week and secure a spot in the top four. Even if we end up in the lower bracket, it’s okay because we’ll get more games.”

Ultimately, Vitality’s current standing doesn’t bother Perkz. He mentioned, “If you’re not good enough to beat all the teams, then my result doesn’t matter if you lose in the first round or in the second. It doesn’t matter which place you are if you’re not first, nobody remembers people who don’t win.”

Perkz shows a lack of fear towards the other teams in the league. He explained, “[The confidence before the playoffs is] a kind of mix of knowing that the other teams in EU are not good, mix of knowing that our individual players are very strong, and individual strength usually matters much more in playoffs than in regular season, and on top of that, yeah just knowing that our scrims have been going well, and our practice is productive.”

We will soon find out if Vitality can secure a top-four finish in the 2022 LEC Spring Split and enter the playoffs from the upper bracket. Week eight of the league begins today.
