Patch 13.9 buffs create a dominant LoL champion in Challenger

League of Legends Patch 13.9 Boosts Swain’s Win Rate in Challenger Rank

Swain, the champion in League of Legends, received buffs in Patch 13.9 on May 3. These buffs have led to a significant increase in Swain’s win rate in two different positions in the Challenger rank.

Currently, Swain has the highest win rate among AD carry champions, standing at 57.71 percent, according to U.GG, a League stat site. In the mid lane, Swain holds the fifth-highest win rate, at 53.79 percent, just behind Kai’Sa, Tryndamere, Akshan, and Cho’Gath. However, his pick rates in both positions are only at one percent and 2.3 percent, respectively.

In Patch 13.9, Swain’s Q ability received a slight increase in base damage. The damage per bolt and maximum magic damage of the ability were also raised. These improvements have made the ability much more powerful in both the laning phase and late-game teamfights.

Over the years, Swain’s strength has shifted due to tweaks made to the champion. While he was previously a solid top laner and even support, Swain has excelled the most in the mid lane recently. However, some players like to use him as a counter in the bot lane.

Swain’s Ultimate Offers Aggressive Play and Sustainability

Having Swain on the team allows players to adopt a more aggressive playstyle, thanks to the champion’s ultimate ability, which provides sustainability. However, if Swain falls behind, it can be challenging to fully utilize his potential, especially when he is played as a marksman.
