Paris to Host 2024 League of Legends World Championship Semifinals

Paris, France has been chosen as the venue for the semifinals of the 2024 League of Legends World Championship, as reported by LEC Wooloo on Oct. 15. The tournament is set to return to Europe next year, according to Esports News UK’s May 2023 report.

Wooloo’s latest reports indicate that Paris will host the semifinals, with the city having previously welcomed the Worlds 2019 finals. The final confirmation of the venue for the quarterfinals and semifinals is yet to be made by Riot Games.

Eagerly Awaiting the Rest of the European Tournament

It remains uncertain which locations will be chosen to host the earlier stages of the competition in Europe. In 2019, G2 Esports from Europe lost to China’s FunPlus Phoenix in the Paris finals. The previous stages of the tournament were held in Germany and Spain. While leaks suggest that London, United Kingdom, Berlin, Germany, and Spain could be potential hosts for the earlier stages of the tournament in 2024, nothing is confirmed yet.

A Return to Europe for Worlds 2024

The rumor mill suggests that Worlds 2024 is making a comeback to Europe, which isn’t surprising given that the region hosts the competition on average every five years. The Championship typically rotates between China, South Korea, North America, and Europe.

Worlds 2023 is already underway, starting on Oct. 10 in Seoul, South Korea. The tournament will make its way through different parts of the country, concluding with the finals at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome.
