PapaSmithy joins OGN as ‘Champions’ switches to four-day format

League of Legends Shoutcaster PapaSmithy Joins OnGameNet

League of Legends professional shoutcaster Christopher “PapaSmithy” Smith is set to join OnGameNet as the broadcasting company expands to a four-day schedule. According to sources close to the organization and caster, Smith will co-host the OGN Champions Korea English broadcast as the group’s new “global broadcaster.” This title was previously held by Will “Chobra” Cho, who recently joined ESL. However, Smith will first substitute in for the Riot Games Chinese League Pro League (LPL) for the first two weeks of coverage to avoid scheduling issues.

Divided Casting Schedule for OGN’s Korean League

OGN recently announced a four-day broadcast of the Korean league, dividing the casting into two halves. The first half will feature Smith alongside popular caster MonteCristo, while the second half will consist of the duo of MonteCristo and long-time partner DoA. However, DoA will only be part of two days of the broadcast due to commitments to other games. It is still unclear which other games Smith will eventually cast.

PapaSmithy’s Background and Relationship with MonteCristo

PapaSmithy, known for his work with Riot Games Oceania, is a color commentator and currently hosts the Oceania Pro League and the Chinese LPL English broadcast. He has previously worked well with MonteCristo in past video reviews and the two have a good personal relationship. Fans can look forward to their collaboration in the upcoming Korean split.
