League of Legends Patch 10.21: Buffs and Nerfs Detailed by Lead Designer
Mark “Scruffy” Yetter, lead gameplay designer for League of Legends, has revealed the planned buffs and nerfs for Patch 10.21. These changes aim to improve game balance and address some of the issues in the current meta.
Pantheon Support and Aphelios Receive Attention
Pantheon support has been a popular pick in the bot lane, especially in competitive play. To address this, Riot Games plans to make adjustments to Pantheon’s abilities, particularly his “Unbreakable Spear.” The goal is to shift his effectiveness away from the support role. Additionally, Aphelios, a champion known for being difficult to balance, will receive significant attention in this patch. Riot aims to adjust his lethality passive and enhance his ultimate abilities with different weapons.

Tweaks to Pantheon’s Kit
Riot plans to decrease the base AD of Pantheon’s Q ability while providing additional bonus AD. This change allows Pantheon to scale better with items and maintain his power level. Additionally, his empowered Q will receive a better bonus damage scaling, increasing from 100 to 115 percent bonus AD.
Improvements for Aphelios
Aphelios, a champion that has been a challenge for Riot to balance, will receive various adjustments. The focus is on his lethality passive and ultimate abilities with the Calibrum, Gravitum, Severum, Infernum, and Crescendum weapons. These changes aim to make Aphelios more threatening in teamfights and force opponents to respect his presence on the battlefield.
