Twitch currently has a 50.74 percent win rate across all ranks in Patch 12.23, with over 353,000 games played, according to U.GG. His playstyle is more prevalent in lower ranks than in Platinum and higher. This volatility may arise from the challenges of this playstyle when paired with high-performing summoners.
The Roaming Support Dilemma
The main issue with Twitch as a support lies in his necessity to constantly roam. Traditional laning doesn’t suit this pick. Rather than engaging in duels with the enemy duo, Twitch often leaves his partner alone to provide ganks and map pressure for other teammates.
Is Twitch Support Worth Keeping?
Playing as Twitch support doesn’t align with the typical support role. Instead, the goal is to become the hypercarry of the team at the expense of the ADC. Some players argue that this unconventional playstyle shouldn’t be removed but rather considered as another adaptation the player base must face.
Despite the discussion, Twitch won’t receive any adjustments in the first update of the year, Patch 13.1. However, if the pick becomes more successful in higher ranks with a similar win rate, developers may need to make changes in the future.
