Origen shocks Fnatic to secure spot in 2019 LEC Spring Split finals

Origen Dominates Fnatic in Spring Split Semifinals

Origen has defied expectations by defeating Fnatic in a stunning four-game series, securing their place in the 2019 Spring Split finals. Despite doubts surrounding their performance last week, Origen proved their strength with a dominant victory.

Heading into the matchup, Fnatic was considered the favorite, especially after their strong performances against Team Vitality and Splyce. Meanwhile, Origen suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of G2. However, this was due to a lack of familiarity with G2’s strategies, as they had not faced them in some time.

Origen, on the other hand, had extensive preparation against Fnatic, giving them an edge in the series. Their draft strategies, including countering Taric-Sona with Blitzcrank and utilizing the Taric-Sona combo themselves, were executed brilliantly.

Throughout the games, Origen displayed composure and calculated play. Although they faced a significant loss in game three, Origen consistently controlled the early game. Their macro-level decision making surpassed Fnatic’s, which greatly impacted the outcome of each match. Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodríguez and Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik Holm delivered exceptional performances, ensuring a decisive victory for their team.

Fnatic must regroup and strategize for the upcoming Summer Split to address deficiencies in team play and decision making. While they did not necessarily underperform individually, Origen’s superior shotcalling proved to be the difference in this series.

In the LEC Spring Split finals, Origen will face G2, the team that previously defeated them convincingly. With newfound momentum and experience, Origen seeks to exact revenge on Sunday, April 14.
