Origen Defeats Team SoloMid in IEM San Jose Semifinals
In a heated matchup between North America and Europe, Team SoloMid faced off against Origen in the Intel Extreme Masters San Jose League of Legends semifinals.
Both teams had new rosters, but Team SoloMid was at a disadvantage with four new players. As expected, Origen came out on top with a 2-0 victory.

This series marked the debut of Origen’s new mid laner, Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage. It is reported that he will rotate with veteran Enrique “xPeke” Cedeño Martínez in the upcoming European League Championship Series.

Veteran top laner, Paul “sOAZ” Boyer, showcased his skills on champions Rumble and Riven, leading Origen to victory in both games.
Rookie Marksman Shines
Jesper “Niels” Svenningsen, Origen’s rookie marksman, showed impressive gameplay similar to his performance at the 2015 League World Championship.
Team SoloMid’s Uncertain Future
Team SoloMid’s new support, Raymond “kaSing” Tsang, is unsure if he will stay with the team permanently or return to the currently weakened EU LCS.
Team SoloMid’s Quarterfinal Victory
Team SoloMid managed to secure a 2-0 victory over China’s LGD Gaming in the quarterfinals.
New Roster for Team SoloMid
Team SoloMid underwent changes with the retirement of Marcus “Dyrus” Hill and Ham “Lustboy” Jang-sik, as well as the departure of jungler Lucas “Santorin” Larsen. They signed two star Europeans, Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen and Tsang, and acquired North American rookie top laner Kevin “Hauntzer” Yarnell.
Origen Advances to Grand Finals
Origen will face Counter Logic Gaming in the IEM San Jose grand finals.
