Origen defeats G2 Esports, marking their first loss in the 2019 LEC Spring Split

G2 Esports Suffers First Loss of the Season Against Origen

After going undefeated in the 2019 LEC Spring Split, G2 Esports has finally faced their first defeat. Origen emerged victorious today, handing G2 Esports their first loss of the season.

The Play that Made the Difference

Origen’s Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik Holm made a game-changing play by locking in Zed against G2’s mid lane player Rasmus “Caps” Winther. Just over six minutes into the game, Nukeduck secured first blood on Caps’ Cassiopeia.

Despite G2’s efforts to stabilize the map, with Martin “Wunder” Hansen performing well in the top lane, Origen’s bot lane took advantage of the lack of resources dedicated to that area.

Impressive Performance by Origen

Origen’s support player Alfonso “Mithy” Rodriguez, a former member of G2 Esports, played exceptionally well against his old teammates. Combined with Nukeduck’s pressure in the mid lane and jungle, Origen gained control of the map in their favor.

Origen Secures the Win

Around the 23-minute mark, Origen started to dominate the game. They secured two quick kills and immediately turned towards Baron, ultimately leading to their victory and an increase in their gold advantage.

Nukeduck ended the game with a 5/1/4 scoreline, accompanied by impressive performances from Origen jungler Jonas “Kold” Andersen (5/1/2) and ADC Patrik Jírů (5/0/5).

League Standings

Despite the loss, G2 Esports still maintains their top position in the league standings with a record of 9-1 in the 2019 LEC Spring Split. Origen, on the other hand, has improved to 6-4 with today’s victory.
