OpTic Gaming’s Starting Lineup Sees LemonNation and zig Departing, According to Report

OpTic Gaming Removes zig and LemonNation from Starting Lineup

OpTic Gaming has made changes to its starting lineup, removing Derek “zig” Shao and Daerek “LemonNation” Hart, according to a report from ESPN.

While the report does not clarify if zig and LemonNation will remain with the organization in a different capacity, it is unlikely that zig will move to OpTic’s Academy roster.

Zig shared playtime with OpTic Academy top laner Niship “Dhokla” Doshi during the Spring Split, but did not play in the Academy league during his NA LCS off weeks. OpTic relied on Dhokla for the majority of the season, with rookie top laner Kostyantyn “PieCakeLord” Dudarchuk playing in the final week.

Both zig and LemonNation joined OpTic in late 2017, along with Noh “Arrow” Dong-hyeon and Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage. OpTic’s general manager and head coach, Romain Bigeared and Thomas “Zaboutine” Si-Hassen respectively, assembled the team.

OpTic finished the NA LCS Spring Split in second last place, struggling against higher-ranked teams and only securing wins against the bottom four teams. With the regular season over, more roster changes are expected during the mid-year offseason.

The NA LCS broadcast will resume on March 24th, starting with the playoff quarterfinal match between Team Liquid and Cloud9.
