One of the most-contested ADC picks in LoL has a remarkably low win rate among role players.

New Meta Shifts in League of Legends

The latest patch in League of Legends has brought about some interesting changes to the solo queue meta. From the top lane to the bottom lane, players have been adapting to the new priorities and strategies. While some champions have risen to the top, others have struggled to find success.

One champion that has caught the attention of bottom laners is Samira. In Patch 13.15, she has secured a spot among the top five ADCs in terms of pick rate and ban rate, according to U.GG, an aggregate of League stats. In Platinum ranks and above, Samira is banned in 26.5 percent of games, with over 236,000 matches played worldwide at that rank distribution.

However, despite her popularity, Samira has proven to be one of the worst performers in the role, with a disappointing 48.8 percent win rate. This can be attributed to the current meta, which heavily favors engage supports and crowd control. These factors make it challenging for Samira to thrive without perfect coordination with her teammates.

The dominant support champions in the meta, such as Blitzcrank, Nautilus, Rell, Thresh, and Rakan, pose a significant challenge for Samira. As a melee-range champion, she relies on comboing off enemies to activate her ultimate ability. This makes her vulnerable to stuns, roots, and other forms of crowd control, leaving her exposed in the midst of the enemy team.

In addition, Samira requires a tank support to fully utilize her Daredevil Impulse passive knock-up, which only activates when an enemy is airborne. Alternatively, champions like Lulu can pose a nightmare for Samira, as their range and abilities can constantly poke and disrupt her engages.

Until some adjustments are made to Samira or the overall state of the bottom lane, she may not be a top-tier pick compared to champions like Ezreal, Ashe, Kai’Sa, Xayah, and Miss Fortune.
