OMG Icon faces one match ban

Oh My God Mid Laner, Xie “Icon” Tianyu, Receives One-Match Ban for Rude Behavior

Xie “Icon” Tianyu, the mid laner for the LPL team Oh My God, has been given a one-match ban due to his rude behavior, as announced by Riot through their official Weibo account.

The incident occurred on March 11 when Tianyu provoked a referee. Riot stated that Tianyu ignored the referee’s instructions, refused to acknowledge him, and declined to communicate with him at all. As a result, Riot had no choice but to impose a one-series ban for Tianyu’s next match, which happens to be against EDward Gaming, one of the LPL’s most prominent teams alongside Royal Never Give Up.

Violation of LPL Official Rules

The LPL official rules clearly state that players cannot engage in any action against other players, fans, or officials. This includes inciting others to do the same, ridiculing or jeering, interfering, or exhibiting hostile behavior.

As of now, Oh My God sits in fifth place in Group A of the LPL with three wins and five losses. They are at risk of being relegated from the LPL, with LGD Gaming currently in sixth place with a record of 2-6.

Intense Competition in Group A

Group A is currently witnessing fierce competition, with Royal Never Give Up expected to take first place by the end of the season. Invictus Gaming, Snake Esports, and I May are currently tied for second place, all with a record of 4-4.
