OfflineTV’s Scarra suggests a game-changing modification to enhance LoL in North America

Scarra suggests re-enabling duo queue in Master+ ranking to save LCS

Scarra, a former pro player of League of Legends, recently expressed his thoughts on the current state of the LCS. In a show match organized by Disguised Toast on June 1, many LCS legends reunited. After the match, Scarra, the co-founder of OfflineTV, claimed that Riot Games should bring back duo queue above Masters ranking in North America if they want skilled players to continue playing the game.

“To save North America [in League], we need people to play. And if you want your top players to play, you need to re-enable duo queue above Masters,” Scarra said. “I don’t care about competitive integrity. As someone who originally wanted to keep solo queue solo years ago, it’s just not worth it.”

Scarra also highlighted the difficulties of solo queue in higher ranks and emphasized that duo queue would significantly improve the experience. He even mentioned that he would return to playing League if Riot were to re-enable duo queue above Master ranking.

Recently, the idea of saving the North American League scene has become a hot topic. This follows the turmoil involving the walkout by LCSPA players and the postponement of the 2023 LCS Summer Split as a result. The walkout vote was passed on May 28 after Riot changed the rules for NA Challenger League, which led to several LCS organizations dropping their NACL rosters.

The walkout was initially planned to take place on June 1, when the Summer Split was scheduled to start. However, the split was postponed by two weeks on May 30, with the possibility of cancellation still uncertain. LCSPA and Riot have been engaged in daily talks about the future of the scene, but no specific details have been shared in recent days.
