Official reveal of EDG’s League of Legends Worlds skins

League of Legends World Championship Skins for EDG Officially Revealed

Rumors have been circulating that the League of Legends World Championship skins for Edward Gaming (EDG) would be coming soon, and now Riot Games has provided an official preview of how the skins will look in-game.

As part of their tradition, Riot collaborated with the EDG players to design five skins and allowed them to add their signatures to their chosen champion’s recall animation. This personal touch adds a unique element to each skin.

The theme of the EDG World Championship skin line is centered around EDG’s dragon theme and incorporates a dark starry night aesthetic. The champions featured in the skin line, including Aphelios, Graves, Viego, Yuumi, and Zoe, all share dragon scales, silver stars, and sparkles, symbolizing their connection under the EDG skin line.

In addition to the default silver dragon skins, there will also be a black and red chroma edition inspired by EDG’s 2021 Worlds jersey.

The recall animation highlights the games won and lost by EDG in the finals against DWG KIA, making it a memorable element of the skin.

Meiko chose Yuumi as his champion and drew inspiration from his own cat. The skin features a small crown on Yuumi’s head and a magical theme. During her ultimate ability, Final Chapter, Yuumi channels dragon-like waves while a star travels across five points, representing Meiko’s participation in five League World Championships. The recall animation shows a heartwarming scene of Yuumi being picked up and placed within the Summoner’s Cup.

EDG Aphelios:

The Aphelios skin, chosen by Viper, perfectly captures the dragon and night themes. The skin incorporates dragon-inspired elements in each of Aphelios’ weapons and animations, showcasing his connection with his sister Alune. This skin truly embodies the title of world champions.

Although the release date for the skins is still unknown, based on the in-game footage preview, they may be available on the Rift as early as the patch before the start of MSI.
