Nongshim RedForce extends LCK dominance in victory over Fredit BRION, showcasing first mid Yasuo of 2021 Summer Split

Nongshim RedForce Secures 10th Series Win in LCK Summer Split

Nongshim RedForce emerged victorious in a thrilling League of Legends (LoL) series against Fredit BRION, clinching their 10th win of the 2021 LCK Summer Split with a score of 2-1.

This intense series showcased some unique picks, including the return of support champion Poppy and mid lane champion Yasuo, both absent from the LCK scene for over 300 days.

The MVP votes went to the carries of NS, AD carry deokdam and mid laner Gori. Their exceptional performances throughout the series, even in the game they lost, earned them these accolades. Deokdam’s outstanding Aphelios ultimates in teamfights played a crucial role in securing the victory in the first game. Gori’s Yasuo pick in the last game, while not winning his lane, showcased his strong teamfight presence, utilizing wind walls to deny opponents’ crucial abilities and protect his team.

Fredit BRION surprised everyone by keeping up with NS in the series, finishing the first game with a gold lead. Ultimately, deokdam’s exceptional Aphelios mechanics allowed NS to triumph.

In the second game, Fredit BRION banned Aphelios in the draft and opted for a similar composition. The noteworthy pick was the Poppy from Fredit BRION, countering NS’s dashes and leveling the playing field.

In the deciding match, Gori’s Yasuo proved instrumental in NS’s victory. Despite falling behind initially, NS’s players rallied back, acquiring their core items and securing the win.

NS First in 2021 LCK Summer Split Standings

With a record of 10-3, NS currently sits at the top of the 2021 LCK Summer Split standings, followed closely by Gen.G (9-3) and T1 (8-5). Their strong performances put them in a favorable position heading into the playoffs.

Next week, NS will face off against Liiv SANDBOX and Hanwha Life Esports. While Chovy-led Hanwha Life Esports may not pose a significant threat, SANDBOX has been on a winning streak and could prove to be a formidable challenge for NS.
