Nongshim RedForce Dominates T1 in the 2021 LCK Summer Split

Nongshim RedForce showed their dominance in the 2021 LCK Summer Split by defeating T1 in a convincing 2-0 series.

T1 was expected to have the upper hand in this League of Legends series after their strong performance against Gen.G earlier in the week. However, T1 failed to replicate their success today, despite fielding the same roster with Gumayusi as the starting AD carry. NS anticipated T1’s strategy and banned their key picks from the previous series. Additionally, NS picked champions in the early rounds of the draft that T1 had found success with, denying them comfort picks.

The MVP votes in today’s series went to jungler Peanut and AD carry deokdam. In the first match, Peanut played with Diana and aggressively invaded his opponents, providing successful ganks for his team. His well-timed ultimates in teamfights were crucial in wiping out T1’s champions. In the second match, deokdam played Lucian and, paired with Yuumi, dominated the game by swiftly maneuvering through the laning phase.

In the first match, T1 held their ground and traded blows with NS across the map. Despite Peanut’s attempts to find picks, T1 had good vision and avoided his ganks. T1 also secured early dragons while Peanut focused on the Rift Herald. However, NS had a superior team composition in teamfights, and Peanut’s engages led to T1’s downfall, resulting in a win for NS.

In the second match, T1 maintained a lead with a similar composition, but NS turned the game around after shutting down T1’s carries. Deokdam capitalized on the gold from these shutdowns and easily carried the game with his Lucian pick. NS secured the win with a teamfight victory for the Ocean Dragon Soul at the 29-minute mark.

Next Challenges for NS

NS (7-3) will face DWG KIA and KT Rolster in their upcoming matches. A win against DWG KIA would place NS in second position in the standings, while a loss could give Afreeca Freecs a chance to catch up to them in third place.
