Nongshim RedForce Defeat Hanwha Life Esports, Qualify for Playoffs in 2021 LCK Summer Split

Nongshim RedForce Secures Playoff Spot with Victory over Hanwha Life Esports

Nongshim RedForce emerged victorious in a thrilling 2-1 series against Hanwha Life Esports in week 8 of the 2021 LCK Summer Split. This win guarantees Nongshim RedForce a spot in the playoffs and also ensures a playoff spot for Gen.G. Nongshim RedForce’s series score has solidified their position, as even if they lose their remaining matches, they can’t drop below sixth place.

The MVP titles for today’s League of Legends series were awarded to Gori and Deokdam from Nongshim RedForce. They showcased exceptional skill on four unique champion picks in their victories. Gori’s Ryze performance in the first game earned him the first MVP, as he roamed the map and helped his teammates establish a lead. Deokdam received the second MVP for his outstanding Ziggs play, providing considerable damage from a safe distance while maintaining a flawless KDA of 0/0/7.

Nongshim RedForce’s Dominance Continues

Nongshim RedForce entered the series as the favorites, given their dominant performances throughout the split. The first game displayed their superiority, as they secured early leads across the map and smoothly transitioned into the midgame with an item advantage. Their focus on the Cloud Dragon Soul allowed them to claim a decisive victory in the opening match.

However, Hanwha Life Esports came back strong in the second game by adopting a different approach. They banned Gori’s Ryze and opted for a teamfight-oriented composition, led by Chovy’s impressive Orianna gameplay. The final match of the series proved to be the closest, with both teams farming passively in the early game. Once Nongshim RedForce obtained their core items, they grouped up and dominated teamfights, securing a 2-1 series win over Hanwha Life Esports.

Playoff Picture and Upsets

Nongshim RedForce (11-4) has secured their spot in the upcoming playoffs, regardless of the outcome of their remaining matches. With Gen.G already locking in their place, only four playoff spots remain up for grabs. However, DRX (2-13) is officially out of contention after a disappointing split. The remaining seven teams will battle it out in the last two weeks of the 2021 LCK Summer Split for the coveted playoff spots. Based on the current standings, the favorites to secure these spots are Liiv SANDBOX, T1, DWG KIA, and Afreeca Freecs. However, Hanwha Life Esports, KT Rolster, and Fredit BRION still have a chance to make an upset run and secure a playoff spot.
